Our goal is to be a single-source packaging solutions provider for all
our customers. However Buckeye Diamond takes this approach one significant
step further. Through our Custom Partnering programs we will work with
you to develop mutually beneficial systems that meet agreed upon goals.
These may include cost reduction, truck and shipping savings, outsourcing
of logistics management, opening up dock and warehouse space and many
other issues.
On-Site Pallet Management is a program tailored to take your company
out of the pallet business and allow you to return to your core responsibilities
of product distribution. Many companies have found that these programs
increase their efficiencies and lower their costs, allowing them to focus
on their core business.
Turnkey Pallet Control
One example is a Pallet Management and Logistics Program through which
we assume responsibility for on-site pallet sorting and logistics –
an area in which we specialize. In fact our management team has over 100
years of experience in pallet management. We are financially strong and
independent which enables us to invest in the capital needed to make these
partnerships a success. We manage all personnel, customer relations and
associated administrative costs.
Features and Benefits include:
- The Distribution Center (DC) focuses on its core responsibilities
of distribution and not on non-productive pallet activities.
- Labor costs associated with pallet sortation, pallet unloading, and
pallet loading is eliminated.
- An agreed upon inventory of good pallets is maintained for the DC’s
usage.
- Pallet handling within, and in and out of the DC is reduced.
- More precise sorting occurs providing more quality pallets for the
DC’s operation.
- Buckeye Diamond Logistics (BDL) employs associates at your DC to manage
your pallets. These associates are hired based on your criteria and
expected to work according to your policies and guidelines. If your
DC has a formal training and/or safety program, our associates participate.
- Staffing is based on the needs and activity of your center and will
flow according to your demands.
- BDL sorts all pallets; White, odd size, and rental pallets.
- An agreed upon inventory and safety stock of good 48 x 40 pallets
is maintained at your DC at all times.
- The broken/odd size pallets are loaded onto BDL trailers.
- On-site staff is responsible for notifying BDL dispatch of full trailers.
- Any cardboard, plastic, and other materials mixed in pallets are taken
to your compactor area.
- BDL maintains a clean and safe work area.
- On-site staff maintains a daily activity report listing the pallets
sorted and trailers loaded. This report is faxed to BDL each day and
a copy is provided to our liaison. These reports are consolidated monthly
and provided within 10 business days the following month.
- BDL provides a certificate of insurance for liability and workers
compensation.
All of which provides customers a variety of opportunities for increased
revenue, lighter repair, freight and logistics savings and no need for
proprietary pallets from vendors. We will be happy to share the win-win
results these programs deliver for our current partners.
In Addition:
If your Distribution Center generates sufficient volume of pallets per
day, an automated sort system can be installed. In addition to the previous
page, this system offers the following:
- Automated sortation
- Less labor force required
- Accurate and timely reporting
- Reduced dependency on labor
- Monitored accountability
- Higher caliber of labor force
Does your DC need an On-Site Program?
- How much is your DC spending on internal pallet handling?
- Are associates dedicated to unloading, loading and sorting pallets?
- How much equipment is involved in these processes?
- Are you under pressure to increase your labor efficiencies?
- Are you under pressure to reduce your operational costs?
- Are pallets a constant source of aggravation for you and your management
team?
To answer these important questions, Buckeye Diamond Logistics offers
a no obligation needs assessment at your DC. BDL analyzes your current
pallet movement and provides cost data of your current pallet operation.
After generating your current internal pallet handling costs, a spreadsheet
is provided listing your costs and potential savings of an On-site Pallet
Management Program. To learn more or receive a quotation, please contact
Ken Lachey.
